messages to annabel...

over the past 3.5 weeks, cheryl and i have been so touched and moved by all the messages that we have received. some people told us to stay strong. some people told us that we were doing a good job. some people told us simply that they were thinking or praying for us. the outpouring of support for us will be something that stays with us for a long time. we now have a request though to go one step further.

during these times we have become truly aware of how much we treasure each moment and want to remember them forever. we want our little annabel to be have the same opportunity. it is for this reason that we are putting together a book of these messages that as she grows and becomes more aware of the world, we will be able to show her that it is full of people that love her and wish her the very best. so here is the request: please consider sending a note directly to annabel that we can add to this book. these notes can be funny, serious, sweet or anything in between. and we want these messages to come from everyone. if you grew up in the same house or barely know me or cheryl, we want to hear from you. this experience has shown us how both big and small the world is and we want annabel to know that people from all over care about her.

so thats the deal. send us a message to annabel and we will include it in the book. this is something that we and she will treasure always and we want you to be a part of it. email your messages to aggierobison@gmail.com, post a comment to this entry, send us something on facebook, text me or whatever. just send something. thanks, gig 'em and god bless.

PS - on another note, we have been told during the past few weeks that there are two special girls who have been following annabel's story very closely. we want to say a special thank you to annabel's cousin katie and our friend from houston, alessandra. we hope that our little baby grows up to be sweet like you...

"Aggie Visions/Aggie Dreams: Coping with the Stories"

For Annabel,

Your father will tell ridiculously long stories about how he had to move his family, in the blistering heat, during a snowstorm, without shoes, up a valley, down a mountain, and through the darkening, desperate forest that led past the jiggling, giggling, trolls of yesteryear, all to reach a far away, uninhabited land of Ohio.

Just when you think he will be finished with this lengthy tale, he will start Chapter 2. You will be "treated" to a spirited portrayal of Aggie Lore (Special Note: Your father will be the lively spirit, you may be the tiresome listener - mimic your mom for tips on how to act like your paying attention!).

He will continue his tale, "Oh, how I yearn for thy greatest friends at thy greatest place on Earth. Oh, how I yearn for Aggieland." And your father is right, for Aggieland is a mystical place filled with wondrous creatures and sounds, where time stands still, and the air is a shower, where Fish are on campus instead of a lake, and Aggies yell WHOOP to declare their mighty power, where people control fire like the truck or the tractor, and others toss mountain oysters on a PVC ladder.

Oh yes, the legend of Aggieland is wondrous indeed! And as you will find out, your father will often remind you about "The Greatest Place on Earth."

But don't let this slogan trouble your mind, for the greatest place on Earth for your father is with his daughter and wife.

Enjoy Ohio. Enjoy the blessings of your loving parents.

Cheers from Aggieland,
Dirac and Kristin Twidwell

Annabel, what they say is true. Your father's only rivals are your Poppy and Auntie E, and now his friend, Dirac. There's a story about that too...
